I was so very sad to read Stephanies story...my heart goes out to her dad...the child abuse in the homes was there when I was there from 1968 to the 70's...my brothers were beaten and made to stand with their wet matresses so everyone could see what they had done...so big deal...they wet their bed..they were little boys who were builled by older boys and house parents..I could go on but what is the point..we all say how great the homes was and is..well that is true..but there is also the dark side..I hope that this abuse has stopped..anyway all the best to you and all the OGB'S..byeeeeeeeeeeee
This is a message /post from Stephanie storey sellers . She wrote about her dad how he grew up in the Homes and his child abuse .
Melvinn,
My dad grew up in the homes from age 2 on. He was anglo Indian and deserted by both parents. He was there in th e1920s-30s and told me he was beaten regularly for things such as wetting his bed. Yet he did love the homes and the alternative would have been worse perhaps. He does recall what we would now call in the United states child abuse.

P.S. My dad is well now. He is getting a medal from President Bush tomorrow for his volunteer work with American schoolchildren.
